Help CARE help you!

We are working to create opportunities for members to shape and develop the role of Audience Research and Evaluation within AAM and the museum field broadly. Our goal is to know more about what you want to do, learn, and be as a member of CARE. Please complete this short survey to help CARE better understand our member’s needs.

AAM Annual Meeting

The AAM Annual Meeting may be 6 months away, but CARE and our other Professional Networks have been busy planning! Our Past-Chair Angie Ong traversed to DC to represent CARE on the National Program Committee. The Committee was tasked with reviewing the 441 session proposals submitted to select the best and brightest for the 2016 Annual Meeting. Thank you to CARE members Michelle Boardman, Elizabeth Bolander, Kerry DiGiacomo, Taline Kuyumjian, Lindsay Maldonado, Akemi Mease, and Melissa Wadman along with CARE Board members Sarah Cohn, Marcus Harshaw, and Marley Steele-Inama who helped Angie review sessions in preparation for the meeting! Also, our Events Lead Emily Craig has been busy coordinating events including a CARE & Ed-Com Evening Event; stay tuned for more details on conference events in the next newsletter!

Visitor Studies Association Conference Call for Proposals is Open

The VSA 2016 conference call for session and website proposals is open! Gathering in Boston next July, sessions will challenge us to think about how the use of data in decision making, data collection and analysis techniques, and the availability and use of data by wider publics can contribute to new insights about the visitor experience and informal learning environments. More than a numbers game, the data revolution is about connecting users with data to make decisions; evaluators analyzing data sets in ways that create knowledge; advocates of evaluation using data to solve problems. Consider the various ways you connect with, collect, use, ponder, make sense of, and advocate for or against data, and submit a session proposal to discuss with others. The deadline for submissions is December 11.
